But once you see those changes not only physically but also mentally, you will love it like anything and missing the gym will make you sad. So just stuck at it for few initial difficult weeks and then see your life change. So here are the must-read gym tips for beginners.

  1. Exercise is for being healthy and it is not for looking good. If you are healthy you will look good.
  2. By just doing tummy exercises like crunches you won’t lose your belly fat. You need to use all the muscles in your body to get optimal results and flatten your tummy.
  3. Try to do both cardio and weight exercises. Cardio is good for your heart and weight training for weight reduction.
  4. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) for 15 mins is more beneficial than slow cardio like jogging for 60 mins for burning fat. If you want to retain muscle then don’t do long-distance running like marathons as the body starts breaking down muscle when you exercise for more than 45 mins to 1 hour. As you know, HIIT does not lead to muscle loss.
  5. Give yourself rest days for your body to recover otherwise you will end up with overtraining syndrome.
  6. To gain muscle you need to increase the resistance every few days to weeks.
  7. Don’t try to copy others who are lifting heavy weights you will only get injured. Start slow and with weights you are comfortable with.

  15. Carry a towel with you. Don’t leave your sweat on equipment.
